Your clubs have made one little 60 year old lady in Dunn, NC
very happy with a set of your components. Back in June when you had the
special on the 720W Woods and 702 Irons, I purchased a set, because it
was such a good deal, I could not pass it up. Planned to either make my
wife or one friend a set of clubs. My friend Ray, has a driving range
and his sister helps with all the daily chores of running the place. Ray
had mention to me that his sister's birthday was the latter part of July
and since she had been playing with an old set of ladies Dunlop clubs,
with a few blades of different makes thrown in, I suggested that I had
just received a whole set of your ladies club components and that Ann
really needed new clubs. With the old clubs, she never could get the ball
higher than 20 feet off the ground and just came to settle for the low
flying shots she made, even with the 9 and PW.
" I assembled the 702W steel Driver, 3, 5, and 7 wood and 5-SW
of the irons. They were a beautiful set of clubs with matching purple
shafts and ladies V-Series ladies grips. On the 29th of July I gave
Ann the clubs, Matt had thrown in the head covers and I pitched in a
new putter and bag, well to say the least she was dumbfounded and said,
'For me?, Oh what a beautiful set of clubs, they are too pretty to play
with', while tears of joy streamed down her face.
"
Tuesday of this week, Ray, Ann and I played a round of golf at
Lakewood Golf Course. Ann enjoys playing golf, but now with a little more
zip in her step and a big grin on her face. The woods fly higher and farther
and the irons, as she stated, 'I pop them up' and I said, 'well, Ann that
is what they are suppost to do.' She will adjust to the distance of her
clubs, because with the first round she was hitting some of her approach
shots over the green on a nice trajectory.
" Because of your components, I receive the pleasure of making
people happy when I make them a set of irons or woods. I assemble the
clubs with care and there is no way Ann's smile could have been any
bigger than on that day in July. I know your components are the best
and eventually, the people in this area will come to pronounce your
last name correctly and quit saying, 'By Who'.
" Thanks very much for making me shine as a clubmaker in the
eyes of the public. "
– Richard K. Buckner (clubmagic)
" Tom, Just wanted to let you know I scored my first hole in one on Pinon Hill 195 yard signature hole #6. The hole in the canyon with the andstone boulders. I was using the 321Li #3 with the GI335 S shaft and 401 OVZ grip. The MOI Method is great. I was also wearing the green Wishon wind vest. Thanks for the great clubs."
– Don Greenwood, Greenwood Golf, Aztec, New Mexico
"Read your book The Search for the Perfect Golf Club today on
the drive back to Michigan from Pinehurst, NC. The things I learned
were awesome! I thought I knew a lot about golf and clubs, but you put
some further ideas in my head that I can't wait to try out.
" I love my Tom Wishon fairway metals. I have the CCG 3+ and
5+; and while in Pinehurst had the local clubmaker put together a 321LI/4
hybrid, with the AA shaft. I'm having good success with all of them.
" I truly believe your theory about being custom-fitted for
clubs, as opposed to buying the over-hyped brands off the rack. Because
I'm a 59-yr. old, petite woman (5'2"), the golf shops immediately
try to steer me toward low-end ladies clubs. When I can convince them
that I'm 'worthy', or my husband is along, sometimes I can be seriously
shown the A-flex or Senior lines. I'm little, but very athletic, playing
fast-pitch softball well into my 30's. My handicap has been as low as
an 8, and usually hovers at 9-10. It's been very hard to be taken seriously
by the majority of chain-store golf shops.
" However, I've been lucky to find a couple of really good clubmakers/fitters...
Dale May here in Kalamazoo, MI, and Mike Bender in Pinehurst, NC. They've
both worked with me to provide clubs that suit me. Mike, especially,
takes extra time to adjust the swing-weight of my clubs, as I need a
heavier swing-weight than most 'little old ladies'. I feel so confident
with the custom-fitted clubs in my hands.
" Anyway, thank you for recognizing the facts spelled out in
your book, and I truly hope other 'club-fitters' will pay attention.
I'm going to call Dale May this week and see him to begin the process
for a new driver to replace my aging Titleist 975D, 10.5 loft. I can't
wait to see what degree loft we come up with! "
– Maryann Root, Augusta, MI, and Pinehurst, NC
"Never in my thirty years of club making and golfing would I
think that I might write a testimonial. After being in the custom fitting
and club making business for years, I switched exclusiveley to Wishon,
two years ago. Needless to say I have constructed, fitted and tried
every head available in your tremendous line.
" My Testimonial: Being a single digit handicapper, I am pretty
picky with my own club set-up.
"
Well, true to form, my game is always shaky in the spring, progresses
a little until I have found the right stuff by mid June, and then I stick
with whatever Wishon works for the rest of the golfing season, up here
in six month only Ontario. I had been hitting a 770 CFE 5 Iron in my bag,
and was quite happy with your award winning iron.
"
The rest of my bag was filled with 991C's, 752TC, 550C, 550M,
in various lofts and shafts. Well, I decided I had had enough. Built a
full set of 770CFE's from 5 iron up, a 321LI-3, a 915CFE 11 degree driver,
515 GRT-3 wood and 5 wood, and a CLF Series 2 putter, with double-bend
shaft, 2 degree loft face insert, 3-14 gram weights. Everything all MOI'd
etc. etc.
"
You guessed it--instant perfection. Never have I played better
golf. Especially the iron play. The 770CFE's are everything you promised
Tom, you can Feel The Technology in the heads. Index dropping as fast
as my pocket book is emptying.
"
The real topper happened last night, you guessed it, 770CFE 8
Iron, 149 yard par 3, in the jar and not one of those fluke holes-in-ones,
but a true honest flight, two bounce, track to the hole and in, nothing
but jar, and a bar tab to match.
"
Tom, Matt, and everyone, thanks for a great personal high, but
more important thanks for a product line that I can sell with the utmost
confidence."
– Rick McKinney Golf, Curl & More, Woodstock, Ontario, Canada
Hello Tom,
"
I had written you last week about my first time out this season
with my all new Wishon set of clubs and the great success I had. I mentioned
that my wife would be playing soon for the first time this golf season
with her all new 730's Well, we played today.
"
For many, many of the almost 37 years we have been married, my
wife would go out a few times each golf season to "humor" me.
She knew that I really enjoyed being with her; and, in that she knew of
my passion for the game, would go as well. But, things were about to change.
"
We played nine holes today and she hit the ball better than she
ever has; and, this was the first time out this year. Her drives were
straight and true; the fairway woods were sailing farther than they ever
have; her irons were soaring with some authority; and her putter (a Smooth
3 I cut down), were dropping some great putts.
"
Her line of the day was that the great results "had to be because
of the technology; it certainly wasn't because of any skill level".
So, thank-you, thank-you, thank-you for providing our marriage one great
boost. We already had a great marriage; but, this just put us up one more
notch. She had a great day on the course and felt that the clubs added
so much to the enjoyment of our round. She is anxious to go out again;
that I am truly grateful for.
"
For Karen (my wife), and I, thanks again,"
– Mike Baker
"The guys I play with are ALL died-in-the-wool
users of only 'high dollar' name brand equipment - Ping, Callaway,
Cleveland, Taylor Made,
Nike, etc. But they've been noticing my improved driving and
long iron play since I got the 915CFE driver and the 321 hybrids.
They've been noticing,
and they've been eying my clubs. 'Let me see that', 'what kind
of club did you say that is? ' I think they've also noticed that
they're paying
me more often at the end of the round, too! It's only a matter
of time before they wise up.
"
Kudos to you guys out there. Great designs and great people.
I always appreciate the help and quick answers I get when I ask for it.
And it is really cool that the owner/designer/genius participates regularly
in the online discussion forum."
– Regards, Dave Metzger
" Just thought you would want to know that I scored a Hole-In-One today using the 6-iron that I made from Wishon components. I hit a 152 yard 6-iron in the hole at The Meadows Golf Course in Dubuque, Iowa. I don't know if Tom has had other clubmakers who have had this fantastic experience but it is all the more meaningful since I am playing all Wishon clubs that I have made. Thank Tom for me for providing such quality products."
– Richard Drey, Dick's Fits and Sticks
"The man that I consulted with you on his irons and woods called! 'I
love those damn clubs, make me a 3 wood!'
" Another man came in carrying your book. 'I've read this thing
three times. Are you one of these guys?' Yes I am! Had a fitting this
morning and will be ordering this afternoon!!!"
– Bill Wellman, PCS Class "A" / GCA Advanced Clubmaker, via email
"Thank you for the wonderful endorsement as relayed to us today by Beth and Bob Weld. They are the folks who called you from Lake Norman, NC and you suggested they come to us for a fitting and clubs. They drove 2-1/2 hours to get here. They arrived at 10:15 am this morning and did not leave until 3:30pm this afternoon and they had a wonderful time. Certainly thank Tom for me for writing his book. They read the book and were absolutely convinced that buying custom fit/made clubs from a reputable dealer was the only way to go. I will be sending you an order tomorrow for all their stuff. Great job!!!"
– Thanks, Walter O'Hearn Match Play of Pinehurst
"I placed my first ever order with your company last Tuesday and just
wanted to let you know about the good experience I had.
"
I ordered a 321LI 3 and 4 iron, a pair of Gi-335 shafts, and
a few other miscellaneous items. I had several questions about both the
irons and especially about the shafts, since there was some overlap between
my swing speed and the published ranges in the catalog. The woman taking
my order was most helpful and seemed extremely knowledgeable, not only
about the products, but about some of the technical issues as well; she
was certainly much more than just an order taker!
"
I also had a few questions about the TW Gold program since I
had planned to make some additional purchases over the course of this
year. She went well beyond what I expected indcating what I would save
on the current order, as well as gave me some sample prices for items
I was planning to buy in the future. Needless to say, I signed up for
the Gold membership. I'm sure as other members of my regular playing group
ask, "What is that? Can I try it," I'll be purchasing even more
than I expected during the coming year.
" The company I work for has a quality policy statement that reads,
'We strive to exceed the expectations of our customers.' Certainly my
first experience with your company was well above what I expected; definitely
a pleasure to do business with."
– Chuck Bernard, Medina, OH
"I have been involved in golf for 29 years 20 of which as an adult. I can honestly say that I have never experienced the help and service that I have gotten with Wishon. All questions and requests are always acted upon and I have found the TW Gold Program is worth its weight in gold as is the Demo Program. Such is the good feeling I am getting that all other suppliers have taken a back seat. TWGT have the people and the products to deliver what can only be termed a 'world class' company. I mean that sincerely. Keep up the great work."
– Regards, Damian Donnelly, via email
"I put together a Wishon PCF sand wedge and sent it to a fellow from work (Major Bart Bartholomew). Below is his response and two pictures showing the club being used. I can now claim I've sent my clubs half way around the world."
– Jim Cook, via email
"Hey Jim, nice club you sent me, I tried it out in Ba'lad this weekend, one of the biggest sand traps in the country. As you can see by the amount of dust, it is very fine and deserving of such a well made piece of art. As I swung thru, the sand noticed the fine quality and parted before the club head. Refusing to detain such a devise. Dust refused to stick to head or shaft insuring the chrome would continue to glisten. No particle dared to corrupt the face, insuring the grooves remained clean and well grooved. As I walked past other golfers, they bowed their heads in respect, for they knew that they were in the presence of greatness. I raised my hand as I passed and allowed them to view this great piece, for it is the best in all the land. I allowed them to touch but only a small part of the club, and allowed but a few pictures. Contracts were written to insure copies would not be made, for others who were not present would pay dearly for such a copy. I intend on bringing this valued asset with me on many missions as I feel obligated to the masses, yes, I will display this implement for all golfers to see. Thank you my friend, I will care for this as I do my most prized possession!"
– Major Bartholomew, from Iraq
"The course I play regularly, Golden Oaks in Fleetwood, PA is affectionately known by the members as "windy oaks". The course has the second
highest point in the county and there is always wind. I have been searching for years for the drive-it-into-the-wind-lower-trajectory-shot-off-the-tee. I can work the 550c's for lower trajectory when needed, but have
had difficulty with the driver.
"
Well, I just purchased a 9.5 degree 515GRT and matched it with
a Rapport Pro Wound 70 regular shaft. Took it out yesterday in 25 mph
winds with 40+ mph gusts and a temperature of 46 degrees.
"
EUREKA!!!!! The ball punched through the wind with a moderate
to low trajectory and even got a few yards of roll on a saturated course.
Can't wait to go south next month to Florida and rip it there.
" Thanks Tom!!!"
– Sincerely, Dan Shaffer, via email
"Many thanks to you [Matt] and the staff at TWGT for your commitment to detail. As always, I am most impressed with not only the quality of your products, but also the quality of your customer service. The emphasis that you place on customer interactions differentiates TWGT from the rest of the component industry, and is an added value to your fine products, which becomes especially apparent when you order products outside of “normal” specifications. I appreciate your consistent and exemplary efforts and continue in my belief that TWGT products and staff are the best in the industry."
Major Mark W. Sparks, via email
"Greetings All: Each of you had a major part in my being able to assemble and ultimately play these fabulous clubs. I am just a small town boy at heart and having clubs of this quality is unbelievable for me. Thanks Matt for your assistance in the selection of the components; Kim in the ordering and pricing, and Tom for the dream to build such a quality company with quality people. [In the TWGT bag] are the trio of the 515's, the 321's, the 550C/M's, the PCF platinum wedges and the Smooth 6 putter. Thanks again to each of you."
– Mike Baker, via email
"A word of thanks to Tom Wishon and the TWGT Team.
"
I had purchased a set of CFE 770 Irons and was having a bit of
a problem adjusting a couple of the heads. I contacted TWGT and the problem
was given immediate attention and resolved.
"
Being a customer of the golf component industry for over 10 years,
it is reassuring to know that TWGT is a company that offers top of the
line equipment and carries on the belief of personal attention to every
customer."
– Chuck Shober, Gunnison, CO
"I just wanted to
say thanks for making such an awesome set of fairway woods. First
time out, I hit the 504 yard par 5, number 2 at my home course
in Indianapolis, The Trophy Club.
"
I had 221 to the hole and hit the 515GRT 5 wood right where I
was looking, over a bunker to about 15 feet right of the hole. Easy birdie!
I’m so happy I waited for fairway woods to match my 515GRT Driver.
Now every club in my bag is Tom Wishon! Including my trusty Smoooth Series
One Putter.
"
I’m also using the 3 wood on several of the holes I had hit driver
in the past. The boys in my group are definitely sniffin this puppy! [grin]
"
You’re all doing such an incredible job! I’m really proud
to be associated with everyone at Tom Wishon Golf Technology."
– David Lawrence, via email
"515Fairway Woods - WOW!!!
" Played today with the 3w and 5w - WOW!!!
" My all time favorite, go-to, can't fail, never miss 5w just got its butt kicked by the 515! Did I say WOW!!! ?
" 3w was nearly as long as my old driver! 5w nearly as long as my old 3w.
" Luckily I'm playing the 515 driver, because it is yards longer than the old driver.
" BTW - did I say 515 Fairway woods WOW!!!"
– Ed, from the TWGT Forum
"The 515 launched *much* more consistently than the Elasteel (there's
a huge shock, I'm sure). GRT works, hands down. I've seen it in the drivers
and now in the fairways. Why a person would want a less than dependable
launch on their shot, I'm not sure. With the Elasteel, I still hit it
straight and long, but it might be a high shot, might be a low shot, depending
on precisely how flush it was hit. Everything off the 515 came off a nearly
exactly the same angle, but I can still hit a higher or lower shot using
tee height/swing mechanics – the way it should be.
"
The fairways have that same addictive solid strike quality that
every really good head does. The 515 driver has it too, slightly differently,
and in greater quantity than most. :-D There's been quite a few maraging
steel heads that were popular (ie., Orlimar) that had that same addictive
feedback – it isn't just the sound, there's a solid crack feedback
that the body gets as well."
– Ron, via email
"I
just put together a (2) 321Li Hybrid with a GI-335 R shaft. What
a sweet club! It took the place of my Callaway Hawkeye 3 wood.
I can hit your club 200 yards in the air, easy off the grass and
straight, straight,
straight. Lots of altitude. All I needed out of my 3 wood was
200 yards off the grass but it usually came with too much fade.
I can close or open
the face on the 321 and put it just where I want it. This is
just a great club! Thank you Tom and all of your happy helpers.
I was turned on to
Wishon Golf by Dick Vogel in Cortez. I have two sets of clubs,
KZG ZO blades and Wishon 550c. I play the Wishon's when money is
on the line.
"
Thanks for being so great, making it so easy to buy your great
products!"
– Richard Strickland, via email
"Just wanted to let you guys know, last week I reshafted and MOI matched a customer's clubs and on Labor Day weekend he got a HOLE-IN-ONE!!! Like I've said before - this MOI thing IS the best thing since sliced bread!"
– Thanks for GREAT products, Dan Wilt, via email
"I have waited until
now to compliment you on the 550 iron design. I have a mixed set of
550c (4-6) and 550m (7-9). I began playing these
in May and have found these to be the best feeling, most accurate
irons that I have ever owned. The feedback I get from these irons
has improved
my ballstriking. Since I started using these irons my USGA index
has dropped three points, directly attributed to hitting more GIR.
These irons give
me the confidence to aim at pins that I would have never thought
about aiming at in the past.
"
Great job on the 550's. I would highly recommend these to anyone
looking for a new set of irons."
– Thanks, Fred Herr
"I
am taking another opportunity to say thank you to you and your team
for such wonderful products. Six weeks ago there were no Wishon clubs
in my bag and now there are just three non-Wishon clubs left!!
Your clubs
are just incredible. I played the 915CFE 420cc for the first
time this morning and the only thing that can be said is WOW!! Hit
3 out 4 par 5's
in two. 571 yards, 563, and 582 respectively. On the 571 yard
hole, I was left with only a 6 iron into the green. Please note I
never hit this
club until warming up before todays round. This is simply the
best driver I have ever hit.
"
The 915 5 wood is crazy long and accurate. Hit one 273 off the
ground, over water into a tight pin and it held the green like velcro.
Both clubs are built with the Series 5 steel shafts tipped an extra 1/2" and
are D9 & D8. While this shaft did not fit well for me in the irons
it is just outstanding in the woods. Extremely long and accurate. Have
already built and sold two 5 woods and a driver. Another week and that
might double after the number people who were trying them after today's
round.
"
The 550 M/C's continue to impress and the PMC sand wedge was
so easy to hit out of sand it was like the ball had radar for the cup.
Kind of reminds me of the old Mizuno Grand sand wedges. Maybe a 52 degree
in a PMC shape? Heck, how about a whole set?!?!"
– THANK YOU!!! WOW!!! Ron Ryan, via the TWGT Forum
"I recently built
myself the Nightfire 9.5 Degree Driver, I put the Wishon ZT series
mid to high launch shaft. Tom I gotta tell you in
over 30 years of playing golf, most of it in mid to low single
figures, I have never hit a Driver with such a beautiful feel off
the face and
the launch angle is something to behold, I usually hit the driver
around the 255 meteres mark but I have gained 20 to 30 meteres off
the tee.
"
I am so impressed I am now going to build your 915 3+ and 5+
fairway wood's. I will use the same shaft as in the Driver. I have no
doubt this will put me in good stead for our summer season just about
to start.
"
So to cut a long story short guys keep up the great work and
Tom you are the greatest club designer I have had the pleasure of knowing."
– Regards, Reg Ridley, Down under in Australia, via the TWGT Forum
"The 550m's, 550c's and the 321 that are in my bag are the best clubs I ever owned period. They are getting a lot of attention at the driving range."
– Clyde Mauk, via email
"Just want to say
thank you to you and Matt Mohi for the outstanding products and customer
service. Matt has been extremely helpful to me whenever
I have had a question or just wanted to get his ideas on something.
He led me into your 321Li hybrid irons and they have to be the greatest
'gift' ever produced for senior players. The first time I hit the #3
it went 15-20 yards farther than my normal 3 iron. I finally was able
to reach some of our par 4's in regulation! I now have the 1, 2, and 3
in my bag and am awaiting the 4 and 5 that I just ordered today.
"
Also, your eTECHreports have been great and really provide some
new insight into the club fitting process.
"
Thanks for the great products and the great people you have working
for you."
– Jack Stiehl, via email
"A
while back I put a couple of 752 irons together for a potential
customer. I have since demo'd these to a couple of other potential
customers,
with 1 definite sale. The original customer will be by next week
to see them. I am very impressed with these irons, to say the least.
"
Also, I had a few questions about these, and your customer service
was very knowledgeable and helpful. I even asked a question from the Practical
Clubfitting Program book Tom wrote and got a much more in-depth and more
complete answer than the other company gave me.
"
I am very impressed with your company all-around, and just wanted
to let you all know there you will be getting much more business from
me. I also joined the TW Gold Program this week. I am going to begin promoting
your clubs first, and more than any of your competitors. The next step
is now the process of figuring out my demo package.
"
Just wanted to say a big thanks to all at your company, and I
am looking forward to doing much more business with you. keep up the good
work."
– Cliff Moore, from the TWGT Forum
"Dear Tom, I wanted to pass along a note of thanks for your assistance in hand picking my 515 GRT to my requested specifications. I continue to be as impressed with the customer service orientation of your namesake company as I am with your outstanding products, innovation, and sharing of information and expertise. Your personal note regarding my hand pick specifications is indicative of your hands-on approach, both in clubmaking and company management. I was equally impressed with the assistance I received from Matt prior to my order placement for this driver concerning questions I had relative to shaft weight and swingweight. His prompt and thorough response, late at night, was much appreciated.
" Finally, I built this driver yesterday and played a round with it today. It is extraordinary in quality, appearance, and function. I wanted to hit a higher trajectory shot off the tee, and the 515 GRT coupled with the Interflexx High Launch reg. flex shaft has given me not only substantially higher trajectory and longer carry, but also more consistent trajectory. I am sincerely appreciative of you and your customer support, and of the consumers ability to select custom, handpicked configurations of your quality products."
– Mark W. Sparks, via email
"...after using your high quality stuff, my business is much better
and more golfers know there is no difference between OEM & Components.
They're starting to know components are not clones anymore, and with selection & fitting,
performance is much better than OEM.
"
With your support, I believe I will be the one of the top clubmakers
in Hong Kong within a short period of time.
"
Tom, just want to say again, "Thank you very much for your support."
– Best regards, Barry Wan, Hong Kong
"Tom, I believe that you have some of the very best products out there to offer us as 'serious clubmakers', and I want to thank you for your dedication and willingness to help us. I was at a clubmakers school at another component suppliers' location back in '96 where I first met you. Of course, when you go through these schools, your mind goes somewhat on overload. But your presentations made a profound impact on my clubmaking/clubfitting skills and I want to thank you for that. I am really happy to learn that 'you're back' with your own company. Your products are great and I have always liked your designs."
– Thanks again, Dan Wilt, from the TWGT Forum
"Tom, Your personalized service and attention to detail have absolutely compelled me to write and say - Thank You."
"
It is a great pleasure to deal with you and your fantastic organization.
I have had the occasion to speak with Matt and Kim on the telephone, and
receive timely responses and advice from both you and Matt on the Forum.
I cannot remember a better experience dealing with any business entity.
You and your staff are absolutely wonderful.
"
Hand picking my 321Li's for 2° up? Unbelievable service and commitment
to satisfying the customer.
"
Your designs, innovation, and candor are truly remarkable in
this age of lousy customer service, marketing hype, and making a quick
buck.
"
Your depth of knowledge is obvious, but your willingness to share
it is exemplary. I have learned so much from the Forum and eTECHreports.
Thank you for allowing us, clubmakers big and small, to learn the facts
from you."
– Bryon Zimpfer, Quality Clubmakers, via email
"Please let Tom know that since his article came out on the PGA.com page, I have received three calls. Thank him for helping to get the word out."
– Richard Drey, via email
"I'm still over-the-top ecstatic about my Wishon 915CFE. I wouldn't
trade if for any other driver. I offer to let others try it (hence the
order I'm placing today) whenever I get the chance. My playing partners
know the name Wishon. "Are you bringing out the Wishon?" "Here
comes the Wishon." <crraack> "WIIIIISSHHHON!" It's
a kick.
"
Looking forward to building another Wishon!"
– Sam Wallick, via email
"The 949 is a real winner! With 11° loft and the rearward c.g.
it is definitely longer than my previous 14° driver, with about the
same trajectory. I'm still learning how to hit it, but the results after
one round are great.
"
But you're starting to piss me off. I love high lofted woods,
like 7, 9, 11 woods. But I tried some 321Li's and they're great. A lower
trajectory but better accuracy. And now I'm missing my 3 and 9 woods from
my bag in favor of 321Li's. And I'm making up another one for play tomorrow,
so I'll have the 1, 2, 3, and 4 in the bag tomorrow, and just ordered
the #5. The replacement of clubs in my bag has got to stop!! Or I'll have
to get a bigger bag.
"
I've never been able to hit a 1 iron - and few people have to
the best of my knowledge. I hit a 321Li 1 iron yesterday from 185 yards
out and put it just on the back of the green about 10 feet from the pin
- total yardage about 195-200 yards. Off a tight lie!
"
Your designs and product improvements are great - but you're
taking all my money! (Well, maybe I'll be able to sell some of these and
recoup my losses). But slow down these great designs - you are totally
spoiling the clubmakers!"
– Best regards, Bill Day, via email
"I Was a 6 handicap
when I got my 915CFE driver and within 8 mos. I dropped down to a
3 hdc. Yesterday I received a 949G/Ti driver head
and put on the same shaft that my my 915 was on. I hesitated
to try it out today, as I felt it would be almost impossible to replace
the head
that had been so forgiving and easy to hit, surely the best driver
head I had used in my 44yrs. as a golfer.
"
Well I am happy to report that I was not disappointed with its
performance.
- It is as easy to hit.
- It is very solid.
- It has a higher trajectory.
- It is much longer.
- It's in the bag to stay.
"
The feel is very solid unlike the hollow pinging sound of the
all-metal woods, this has a much more pleasant sound somewhat along the
lines of the old Persimmon woods.
"
You have a winner here, and I wish you much success with it,
and also with your complete line of superior products."

"My 7-year-old son
Cameron and I played in the Parent-Child Tournament at my club (Hopedale
Country Club, Hopedale, MA) this past weekend. The
format for our flight (under 10 years old) was alternate shot,
for four holes of play. We finished with a 3 over par 19, good enough
for second
place (winning score was 18). Most importantly, it was our first
real competition together on the golf course, and we both had a wonderful
time.
Dad managed to keep his emotions in check after nearly acing
the third hole, leaving a one foot birdie putt for the team, and then
tapping in
another one footer for the par. It's all about the fun, not the
score.
"
I play the WWMD (Wishon Weapon of Mass Destruction) 919 hand
selected specs of 11 degree loft with 1.1 degree closed face angle, with
an AccuFlex ProLD shaft at 45.5", a 915 3wood with ZT Series shaft,
and 919 5wood with Interflexx shaft. My irons are 550C 4-9, SW, 550M PW,
AW, SW, all with Precision FCM steel shafts.
"
Cameron plays the Wishon Future Pro driver and 3wood, irons 5,
7, 9, DW, and putter, all with Future Pro graphite shafts.
"
We both love our Wishon components, and would not consider playing
anything else!"
– Best regards, Chris Davis
"In all my years
of clubmaking, I have rarely had as ecstatic a golfer ring me up as
I did today [Wed, June 30, 2004].
"
I made him up a #321 #2 iron with GI-335 S-flex shaft last Saturday
morning. Actually, it was a head & shaft I'd been meaning to make
up & test for some considerable time, but hadn't got around to it,
so he was the guinea-pig for this particular head & shaft combo.
"
Anyway, this guy tried out the club on Monday. The results he
got were SO amazing, that he thought it must be because of what I like
to call 'new club syndrome' (the honeymoon that doesn't last).
"
So he tried it again on Tuesday; same result.
"
And today; same result. Not only is he hitting this club up with
a couple of his playing partners' drivers (which REALLY pissed them off!),
but he says he can hit almost any shot he wants with it, at will – high/low/draw/fade.
It works from good lies, bad lies or semi-rough, too.
"
In short, he says it's the most amazing club he's ever had in
his bag... He wants a matching #4 iron, which I'll be ordering later this
week."

"I recently moved up from 752TCs to 550Cs and have been very happy with both. I also recently started using a Smoooth 7 putter and couldn't be happier. I'm serious about the putter. I've heard the term 'point and shoot' a lot over the last several years, but the Smoooth 7 is the first putter I've ever used (and I've used all the OEM stuff) that actually fits that description."

"My 550 customer
finally took his new clubs to the course. He went to the driving range
first. You'll love this. He pulled out a club and
just started hitting it without knowing which one it was. It
was going 150 and dead on, small landing patterns. He commented that
it was just
about right for his eight iron. His friend said, 'Tommy, your
eight is still in the bag.' He turned it over and much to his surprise
it was the
nine. [With] his former set of G2s he was having trouble even
getting 120 out of the nine. Just could not hit it! After trying to
get through
most of the set before playing he still hadn't hit the seven
and on the very first hole the green was 165 away. He decided to try
the seven, pegged
it 4 feet past the hole and to the right, and to his surprise
it backed up 5 feet, he was impressed because he'd never backed up
a seven iron.
Had a 4 footer for birdie. The rest of his round went pretty
well considering he didn't have the distance dialed in. His playing
partner is now discussing
a set of the 550s with me for himself.
"
Nothing in the world works like 'Show Me', and those 550s certainly
did!"

"You've probably heard this before but kudos are never too many. Your packaging for shipment is absolutely the best I've seen from anyone, regardless of product. I just want to thank you for putting forth the extra effort in everything you do. If all would emulate your quality and service, the clubmaking industry would gain a lot more respect from the public."

"There will soon
be a movement afoot to outlaw the 550C and the 321. Finally got my
set built and tried them Sunday. 5I about 10 yds longer
than the MacGregors I was playing. Very forgiving. Shot a 79
in a 30 MPH breeze. Had the 321 with me just in case since I don't
go past the 5I.
"
Monday – duck hook a drive – ball lands on edge of ditch...
I'm standing half in the ditch with a tree in front of me... pull out
the 321 and put it on the green 170 yds away, and over the tree. Outlawed!
"
Awesome!!!"

"I'm the club fitter/maker
for the Dr. Jim Suttie Golf Academy at Green Garden Country Club in
Frankfort, IL.
"
Dr. Suttie has been ranked as the #1 teacher in Illinois and
the 11th in the nation. Unfortunately he does not have the "PR" that
lesser teachers seem to have.
"
I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate the 915 CFE driver
heads that you offer. I continually see ball speeds increase by at least
20 MPH on our launch monitor. I had a lady who used her Callaway driver
and your 915 CFE and she increased her down range yardage by 40 yards!!
I am finally getting golfers in my shop who realize that they need more
loft and your 915 CFE drivers are a welcome addition to my arsenal. I
also have golfers waiting with bated breath for the release of the 949
driver.
"
Thank you for turning down the position with Titleist and going
into business for yourself. I also appreciate the options you offer with
the INTERFLEXX shafts. They are GREAT!! I look forward to more innovations
by Tom Wishon Golf Technology."

"A while back I put
a couple of 752 irons together for a potential customer. I have since
demo'd these to a couple of other potential customers,
with 1 definite sale.
The next step
now is the process of figuring out my demo package.
"
Just wanted to say a big thanks to all at your company, and I
am looking forward to doing much more business with you. keep up the good
work."
– C. Moore, via the TWGT Forum
"Just
wanted to give you a little more feedback on my Wishon 915 driver.
After more than a month of playing the new driver, I can honestly
say I'm more comfortable with this driver than any I have ever
owned, and that's a very large number! I'm about 15 yards longer, but
also much more consistent now. Even the bad swings seem to end up
playable. The only thing is that I hit it so good I tend to swing a little
harder (don't we all) until I make a bad swing, then I reign it
in a bit.
"
Tuesday I played the best round ever in 53 years of playing this
game. And it wasn't even close; I shattered my best round record by four
shots! My previous best was one under par 71; Tuesday I shot 67 with a
three-putt! Needless to say I'm on cloud nine. I have to attribute the
good round mostly to good putting, but my drives set me up for easy approaches
all day, and made the rest easy. I only made one long putt in the entire
round and no chip-ins.
"
The only downside is my handicap which dropped from a 7 to a
6 on May 1st and will go down 2 more shots Jun 1st to a 4. I'll be giving
more shots than ever to my foresome. What a nice problem!"
– Thanks again for your time, Tom Alexander, via email
"I make custom putters,
and have used many many component putter heads over the years. Brand
recognition is a huge selling factor for most
golfers, too bad the brand name doesn't put the ball in the hole.
"
Wishon is a name most serious golfers recognize, and lends us
builders some of that brand recognition we need in order to sell higher
end products.
"
The Smoooth series, especially the 6 and 7, have a feel unlike
most I've ever used. And they have a look that really works.
"
I work in a small area that requires art as well as function,
and these heads are the perfect compliment to that.
"
Thanks Tom for a great product!!!"
– Jim, via the TWGT Forum
"Yesterday I completed my fifth round of golf and “umpteen” hours
of range work with my new TW clubs (915 CFE 1,3,5,7 & 550C/550M).
INCREDIBLE--CONGRATULATIONS, YOU ARE THE BEST!
"
It has been great to follow your career and see you now, with
your own company, away from the corporate b.s, where you can do what you
do best—make the finest golf clubs in the game. It is good to see
good things happen to good people.
"
Every TW component I have is awesome and I have to add that the
Series 5 Graphite Shaft is exceptional. I have hit them all and I can
tell you that this stands out. TW clubs are superior to anything on the
market. It is a shame consumers are so blind sided by the advertising,
tour incentive money, etc. of the OEM’s that entice the public to
buy these brands. It’s a joke. I am not saying that there are not
innovative and quality products coming from some of the OEM’s, but
nothing like your work. You should be very proud.
"
Thank you for not going to Titleist, or anywhere else, and for
starting Tom Wishon Golf Technology."
– All the best. Jonathan Buchman, via email
"Personally, I'm glad that you [Tom Wishon] stayed with the golf component side of the industry. I am a loyal believer in you and your proven abilities in providing clubmakers with the latest in clubhead designs, fitting principles and advice. I, as well as others, will buy, follow your advice and support you and TWGT now and in the future."
– Richard K. Buckner, GCA Advanced Clubmaker
"These 752TC irons are staying in my bag for a long-time. I hit them straight, particularly the long irons. Feel was very good and mishits (especially those on the toe) kept on line with good distance. Overall, I couldn't be a happier camper."
– Ted Way, Folsom, CA
"I’m 62-years-old and have been playing golf with big brand-name
clubs for nearly 30 years. Currently, I’m a 16-handicap and unhappy
with my Callaway Big Bertha irons, so I began searching for the best component,
forged cavity clubs and a quality clubmaker. I soon learned about Tom
Wishon Golf Technology — the leading name in component club products — and
his newly designed Wishon 550 (C)avity and (M)uscle-back forged
irons. Luckily, I was also directed to TheGolfShed.com and its owner/master
clubmaker,
Shane Springer, for purchase and assembly.
"
I received my new set of Wishon 550C’s forged irons (4-PW+GW) and
was very impressed with their look, feel and craftsmanship. I’d
put them up against any big name irons for looks, quality, feel and playability,
and I know new prospective buyers will agree with me. Shane built these
clubs with the new Wishon Series 5 steel shafts. He advised that every
shaft in the set had the same 5cpm (cycles per minute) slope, a perfect
frequency-matched set which you could never buy off the Pro Shop shelf
from a big name company.
"
When I hit these new irons, they are soft feeling for a forged
club and very forgiving, and I think the 550s would be excellent clubs
for players of any handicap level. I was typically hitting my Big Bertha
5-iron about 170 yards, but I consistently hit the 550c 5-iron a consistent
180-185 yards straight and true! Then, an assistant pro at the club hit
the 5-, 7- and 9-iron and all he could say was, 'These are Pure!' Of course,
I will never buy the so-called big name clubs again!"
– Dave Smith, Alto, NM
"Just an unsolicited testimonial - I had to write! I'm an experienced clubmaker, passed my PCS Class A over ten years ago and have ranged since from basement work to having a full retail storefront operation. A clubmaking buddy of mine tipped me off about your product just last month, so I ordered up a 3 and 4 TW321LI with the 335 graphite shafts. Living in northern Wyoming, I didn't expect to be able to hit them until I go back to my job with the Futures Golf Tour next month - but we had a break in the weather this week, and out I went. I absolutely am in love! I'm a 2 hdcp, playing Cleveland TA3's right now, and these two irons completely outperformed anything I've ever hit in a long iron. First hit with the three iron was on a par 3 - 213 to the middle, which is about 4 yards beyond the reach of my old 3 iron. This ball took off with a launch angle of about a 6 iron, flew about 7 yards past the middle, and stuck within 7 feet of that. Great design, great club, and I'm totally sold on the .335 shafts in a long iron now!"
– Thanks, Rich Gleason, via email
"These Irons [550 C and M] are the best forged Irons I have ever hit. I am 75 years old and depend on a club going the exact distance I need. With tipping them a little weaker than Regular the ZT shaft is perfect. I hit every club, including the 3 Iron, very straight. The V grip has kept me from pulling the ball when I jump on one. I am completely satisfied and will play these while I have sets of Hogans, Nike and Cleveland Irons collecting dust."
– John Hoffman, via email
"Have found that the TW Gold package to be worth the value from the discounts I will save a lot more than it's cost for sure. My first demo order went very smooth with help from Kimberly. Although I am still getting used to the navigation thru the web store. You might consider a link from the store front back to the main wishongolf.com 1st page. Also possibly a log in on the main page were TWGold members might have added info or exclusive sneak peaks to new design thoughts or additional special pricing on overstocks. But the pricing alone is worth the membership."
